About the Artists…

The Scorpion Sound Regiment of Farmington High School (FHS) in New Mexico boasts award-winning concert, marching and jazz bands.  The groups consistently receive high marks from judges at festivals they attend.  The high school band has grown from 40 to 60 students in the past five years under the direction of Chris Argotsinger.  During Mr. Argotsinger’s tenure with the bands, student members of the FHS band have been selected as members of the New Mexico All-State Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Concert Orchestra and Jazz Band.  The band’s motto, Dignity, Honor, Pride, is practiced by all members of the band in rehearsals and in everyday life.

Chris Argotsinger, director
Mr. Argotsinger graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 2006 with a Bachelor of Music Education degree.  He had the honor of directing the UNC Pride of the Rockies Marching Band for two years as one of Drum Majors and performed with the UNC Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Jazz Lab II Band. After graduating from UNC, Mr. Argotsinger started his teaching career in Colorado Springs, CO then moved to Farmington in 2008.  Mr. Argotsinger is now in his fifth year sharing his passion of music with over 130 students at his two schools, Tibbetts Middle School and Farmington High School.
