About the Artists…

A Cappella Ensemble Singers (ACES) began in 2002.  This group of vocally talented, advanced choral students are required to maintain high academic standards in all classes.  Students are selected to participate in ACES by the choral director, and it is an honor and privilege to be selected to participate in this group.  They have performed at local nursing and assisted living facilities as well as the local hospital.  The group performs the National Anthem at all home basketball and baseball games and assists with programs at all home football games.  ACES is often called upon to provide entertainment for school functions, such as the Mr. and Miss Pine Forest High School pageant, the junior class ring ceremony and other events.  They have performed for the local superintendent of schools, the board of education and the North Carolina Eastern District PTA meeting.  The group has also performed at the North Carolina State High School Basketball championship game in March of 2012 and toured New York City in 2011.

Denise M. Hall, director

Hall is a 1999 graduate of Fayetteville State University with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education K-12, with a concentration in voice.  In 1999, she was privileged to both tour and co-conduct with the university choir in Europe (Belgium and France) where they performed 17 concerts in 17 days throughout the two countries.  She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in music education from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

Denise has been teaching private piano and voice for approximately 30 years and vocal music in the Cumberland County School system for 13 years.  She serves as the pianist of her local church and the assistant choral director.
