Come join the festivities at the world famous Epcot Theme Park as the Aiken High School Marching Band, led by director Ryan Westberry performs and marches through Future World at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 8, 2013 as part of Disney Performing Arts.

about the artists…

Aiken High School is a 3A high school located in Aiken, SC. With a rich history of superior ratings at concert, jazz, and marching festivals, the Aiken High School Band has received many awards and honors for its performances and community service. Most recently, the band had the honor of representing South Carolina in the 2012 Independence Day Parade.

Ryan Westberry earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Furman University and a Master of Music Education degree from the University of South Carolina where he served as a graduate assistant with the Carolina Bands. Mr. Westberry is in his ninth year of working with the Aiken High School bands. He was the band director at Aiken Middle School for four years before becoming the band director at Aiken High School in 2008. Prior to coming to Aiken, Mr. Westberry taught at Busbee Middle School in Cayce, SC and Effingham County High School in Springfield, GA.

Mr. Westberry’s ensembles have consistently earned Superior and Excellent ratings in marching contests, concert festivals and jazz festivals in South Carolina and Georgia. He was the Teacher of the Year at Aiken Middle School in 2005 and was awarded the Golden Apple from WJBF TV in Augusta, GA in 2006.

Mr. Westberry is a member of the National Association for Music Educators, South Carolina Band Directors Association, American Schools Band Directors Association, and Phi Beta Mu.
