About the Artists….
The choirs at Dublin Jerome High School have been selected, through audition, to be one of five featured choral groups at the 2006, 2008, and 2012 Ohio Music Educator’s State Conference. The members of the choir have been honored to sing under the baton of internationally known conductor/composer Eric Whitacre and Albert-George Schram as well as Dr. Hilary Apfelstdat and Dr. Robert Ward both of The Ohio State University. In 2008, the choir traveled to Austria where they performed at the Salzburg Dom, Melk Abbey and Saint Stephen’s Cathedral. In the same year they received an invitation to sing with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra on their Family Concert Series. In February 2010, they returned to the stage of the Ohio Theatre to sing with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and six-time Grammy award winning Irish Musical Ensemble, The Chieftains. In the spring of 2010 they made their Carnegie Hall debut. We are excited to be making a return trip to Austria in the spring of 2012 to share our musical passion with the very receptive audiences of Salzburg and Vienna.
Choir director Jeanne Wohlgamuth has taught choral and instrumental music for 29 years. She is currently in her eighth year as Fine Arts Department Chair and Director of Choirs at Dublin Jerome High School where she directs five co-curricular and two extra-curricular choirs.
